    Liwayway Eatery- Laguna’s Hummus Toast is a great snack when you’re up for quick fixes plus it’s a great food choice if you’re up to try the different options around Mercato LB. Liwayway Eatery usually post every month on their social pages the schedule of their stall and where to find them. Usually they’ll either be at their Umali spot, or at Mercato LB and

    Another Liwayway pick that we can recommend is their Margherita Pizza which is a greater palate starter when you’re up into checking out the other stalls around Mercato LB. The one on the right is a newly offered pizza, Creamy Spinach, that we’re excited to try anytime soon!

    You may find that their sourdough breads and pizzas are not too sour. I found out that they specifically intended to do this through a dough-making technique called poolish.     ✨ Liwayway’s Margherita pizza would be very memorable when you have expereienced its very stretchy cheese with just the right hint of basil as it goes very balanced with the cheese and tomato. Best to eat when it’s hot!

    If you’re thinking about parking, best to go to their Mercato LB stall since the place has a great space to accommodate lots of vehicles.

    We love pairing their items with choices from Coffee Mariano if you’re visiting their stall around Halcon St.

    This store is permanently closed.

    We have absolutely full and happy tummies whenever we go back for this Pork Sisig from Hungry U that you can try when you’re around Los Banos. It’s located on the farthest stall on the food garage just across Jollibee Junction (beside Mercury Drug).

    ✨Their sisig sometimes run out early due to the load of orders from their loyal customers from different offices from Los Banos to Calamba area. Amazing, right?

    Due to the consistent quality of their sisig you might want to check first if they still have sisig in stock since it runs out early at times.

    You may want to reserve a platter or a sisig meal by reaching them on their numbers ahead to make sure that you get to taste this dish.

    This is best paired with the Pinikas Silog/Platter from Elbi Balay (another stall in the same food park).

    Hungry U offers different sizzling meals, burgers and they even have liquor! The pork sisig platter is under their pulutan choices, and we’re sure it’s a great beer pair for sure!

    In case you want to add Hungry U for your next food trip around Los Baños or when you’re around food crawling in Laguna, we recommend that you go together with a group so you can enjoy the different dishes available and share them together!

    Hungry U’s pork sisig requires a lot of rice, if you’re up to eating it alone. It’s not the usual sisig made from pork face as it’s more made of liempo (or pork belly). We even always request to have less onion whenever we order.

    Hungry U doesn’t have other branches but despite that, make sure to message them first before you come in case you want their sisig. We usually message their Facebook page hours before so they can save us a platter since it’s very unpredictable when their stock will run out.

    We make sure to pair their sisig with their yummy chili garlic! Personally, we love mix-matching their sisig platter with Elbi Balay’s other dishes.

    ✨This is one of Elbi Balay’s bestsellers that you may want to include in your ElBi (Los Baños) food trip list!

    Elbi Balay started during the height of the pandemic (2020) and remained to be one of the go-to places and food-delivery choices.

    ✨ Pinikas is a dried fish imported from Cebu and this silog is best eaten quickly to savor the crunchiness and is best paired with spicy vinegar.

    The Robinson’s Los Banos underground parking would be the best parking choice for those who are bringing their vehicles.

    Has Pet-Friendly Area

    offers a variety of hearty creative Filipino takes on your early breakfast dishes. They also offer burger choices in case you’re not in for a rice meal.

    Their platter which only costs P190 is enough to be shared by 2-3 people! What a steal! This is the reason why we are giving the Elbi Balay’s Pinikas meal as a Lasang Sulit at Super Uber Uulit.

    My husband and I are even able to share the Pinikas meal even if we only get the single meal (P90). Yes! The Pinikas meal is enough to be shared we even pair it with a sisig meal from another food stall just across Elbi Balay.

    Pinikas Meal

    Elbi Balay’s Pinikas Meal is best eaten after serving since they make sure that it’s served fresh and hot. Their dried fish is not the usual salty dried version that our mothers loved to cook at home.

    It was totally random when we discovered this Bagoong Rice with Lechon Kawali from Cafe Alexandra which is a cafe inside APA Farms.

    Mist Cafe and Restaurant offers Asia Fusion cuisine and is a good place to let your palate indulge in curiousity. The place is very Instagram-worthy and so is the presentation of the dishes. Their dishes are well cooked but the Seafood Fried Noodle stood out.

    In case you want to add Mist and try this seafood fried noodle for your next food trip when you are in Bohol, we recommend that you go together with a group so you can enjoy different dishes and share them together, and also to split the bill!

    Mist Bohol is pretty known in Panglao, Bohol just right after it was opened last 2020. Expect that the place would be jampacked and that service could be slow during peak hours. We learned this when we went here for the first time so the next time we came back we made sure that we were either not hungry or going here not during the peak hours which is during dinner and lunch time.

    Mist has its sole branch in Panglao, Bohol which is known to be pretty heavy on tourists due to its beaches and the streets lined with pubs and restos.

    Has Pet-Friendly Area

    ✨You may find this just along the road and you might miss it whenever people flock here. So far we found this as the best and most worth it place for tacos.

    We’ve tried another famous Mexican place but truly liked El Chapo’s more as its quality is more than worth its price. 

    ✨ Their Clasico soft tacos choice feature all-three taco choices on their menu which are: Chicharitos Pork, Spicy Chicken, and Sirloin Beef. This is a great choice if you want to sample their tacos first.

    Parking Availability and Tips:

    There isn’t much free parking available in the area as San Juan La Union has recently passed an ordinance that fines vehicles that would park on the streets.

    You have to look for paid parking lots or just take a tricycle to reach it.

    Just in case you’re walking it’s just a bit of 1-2 minutes away from Flotsam Jetsam. If you found the restaurant named Seawadeeka, El Chapo’s is just on the other side of the road.

    El Chapo’s offer tacos, burritos, quesadilla, and horchata which are great Mexican finger foods for your food trip! They have only two (Katipunan and La Union branches) branches that offer these finger foods. Their UP Town Center branch only offers horchata on their cart.

    In case you want to add El Chapo’s for your next food trip around QC, (especially on your Katipunan food crawl) and La Union, we advise you to go on a food walk with a party so you can sample various foods and share them.

    El Clasico soft tacos

    El Chapo’s El Classico is a great choice if you want to sample their different flavors first before choosing one that your palate likes. In case you don’t like cilantro, just make sure to tell them about it so they’ll know.

    Fact: Some people don’t like cilantro because it tastes and smells like soap for them due to a certain gene.

    El Chapo’s currently has three branches Katipunan, La Union, and UP Town Center. Their UP Town Center branch however is just a cart that offers horchata and does not have the finger foods if you’re keen on having a taste of their El Clasico.

    Amazingly, the Katipunan Branch is actually their first branch! The La Union branch was just opened this 2022.

    The Butterboy Bakehouse is located on a seemingly residential area so there are quite a lot of parking areas if you’re just going to pick up your order.

    Other Details:

    ✅ If you want to dine inside the bakehouse, you have to watch out for their online ticketing schedule, usually of drag shows, on their Instagram page. 

    ✅ You’ll have to pay in advance for the meals that you’ll have on the day of the event. 

    ✅ We find the mini Kouigns as the best choice for those who want to try it first.

    In case you want to add this Kouign Amann for your next food trip around QC or when you’re just a few minutes away from Manila, I recommend that add a taxi fare or grab for picking up the order because the bakehouse is quite far from the main road.

    Butterboy Bakehouse’s Kouign Amann is a true delight! I personally love the mini version of the Kouign Amman because it’s one that you could eat in one to two bites and it’s so addicting in this size. It’s a sweet and salty treat for your palate!
    Their croissants are big for their price too!

    ✨Most of the Binondo food trip recommendations that may you find online are too hyped but this one is the only one on most lists that can truly live up to its recommendation. So far you’ll know that you’re near Lord Stow’s branch when you’ve smelled its lovely flavor. 

    ✨ This egg tart is a handmade flaky pastry shell baked with a creamy custard filling and caramelized top. These tarts have dairy, gluten, and egg, just in case you need to know before.

    Parking Availability and Tips

    For sure you may have to walk to reach the Ongpin branch.

    But for the Tomas Morato branch there is a big parking area in front of the bakery and just in case it is full, there is another parking area on the other side of the road (beside the Saturday Dress boutique shop).

    You may find these egg tarts a bit pricey, but it’s not an international sensation for nothing, so for us, the price is truly worth it.
